The pace of mobile adaptation is incredible:
- Globally there are almost as many mobile-cellular subscriptions as people in the world.
- Every day, more people buy iPhones than are born on the planet.
- The Pew Research Center survey found 63 percent of mobile phone owners now use their phone to go online. And because 91 percent of Americans now own a cell phone, this means that 57 percent are “cell Internet users.”
Let's take a harder look at how people feel about applying for jobs on their mobile devices. Earlier this year, Potentialpark surveyed 26,874 graduates in the US, Europe, and Asia regarding their attitude towards online, social and mobile recruitment. Their findings? Applicants will review companies' career websites for basic information, but they aren't dynamic and updated often enough and lack personal interaction. For interaction and updates job seekers turn to social media — especially Twitter and Facebook. The survey also revealed that candidates are ready and willing to use mobile devices to apply for jobs, and are waiting for companies to give them mobile access to career sites.
We believe it's time to give employers and candidates the best of both worlds. Use social media to attract and update candidates. Then engage them through interactive texting, and lead them to a short form employment application that can be completed on any device — anywhere — in minutes.
